Naomi Watts and Jodie Turner-Smith both rocked chic looks at the 2023 Gem Awards in New York on Friday.
Watts, 54 – who had recently looked radiant in a white Givenchy gown at Vanity Fair’s Oscar party – donned a sultry black dress that hugged her figure and showed off her sculpted arms.
She wore her trademark blonde hair in a bob and sported a dark crimson lip, giving her radiant complexion a dramatic pop of color.
Turner-Smith, 36, turned heads in her stunning wavy black and white striped suit, accentuating her statuesque figure to perfection.
Jodie’s glossy hair flowed down in an edgy style as she opted for dark purple lips and a designer black clutch.
Watts sparkled in Anita Ko’s jewelry while Turner-Smith adorned each ear with elaborate diamond designs and displayed a blinding ruby on her hand.
The GEM Awards are the Oscars of the jewelry industry and recognize designers and executives who have enhanced “the visibility of fine jewelry and watches”.
The A-list party was held at Cipriani 42nd Street, bringing out the biggest names in fine jewelry.
Brad Pitt’s girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, also caused a stir at the ceremony. She showed off a plunging black dress. The look featured a high slit to show off her long legs
Turner-Smith is set to star in the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte, which is slated for release in 2024 on Disney+.
According to the mystery show’s official premise, The Acolyte is set “approximately 100 years before the prequel film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.”
The central story would revolve around “an ancient Padawan (who) reunites with her Jedi master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they face are more sinister than they ever anticipated.”
Watts will soon be seen playing one of the most glamorous mid-century women, as she portrays fashion icon Babe Paley in the second season of Feud.
Based on Laurence Leamer’s best-selling book, Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era, the second season will follow the famous implosion of New York high society when Truman Capote betrayed the Manhattan elite by including them in his fiction.
The author of In Cold Blood and Breakfast at Tiffany’s cut a hole in the high society of the rich and powerful by publishing an excerpt from his unfinished novel Answered Prayers in 1975.
The mystery romance turned out to be a salacious eye-opener blasting a variety of his closest friends, who happened to be the classiest women of their time.
Watts will be joined by Chloe Sevigny, who plays legendary socialite CZ Guest, while actresses Diane Lane and Calista Flockhart will also be featured.
SAG Award winner Tom Hollander plays Truman Capote and reportedly shaved his head to better portray the controversial writer.
